# Zenode uses a credit-based system for advanced AI features, while keeping basic part discovery completely free.

⚡ TL;DR: Basic Catalog Discovery and Browsing Parts are always free. Credits are required when you ask Zenode's AI to work on your behalf by interpreting documents, surfacing insights, or answering questions directly. There are 3 plans to choose from offering different amounts of daily credits. Non-Expiring free credits may also be earned.

Free Discovery for Everyone

Browsing and researching parts is always free on Zenode:

  • Search and refine with parametric filters

  • Access part information and specifications

  • Read through datasheets, reference manuals, and other available documents

💡 None of these actions use credits or even require an account, but Zenode still uses AI in the background to make your search and browsing faster and more complete. As we believe here at Zenode, AI is not smarter than engineers, but it is faster!

When Credits Are Used

Credits are consumed when you engage advanced AI features to interact with part information.

💡 1 credit = 1 AI lookup on a single part’s documentation.

  • Deep Dive — Zenode searches technical material and explains results across all the parts in the results. So on a typical discovery page with 25 parts, running a deep dive would consume 25 credits as the AI examines each part individually for answers to your query.

  • Interactive Documents — On a single part page, Zenode pulls responses and their sources to your queries directly from datasheets and reference docs. Because it's only searching a single part, each query only consumes 1 credit.

Plans & Daily Credits

All of our plans provide a certain amount of daily credits that reset automatically at midnight.

  • Basic Plan (must be logged-in): 25 credits per day

  • Pro Plan: 5,000+ credits per day

  • Enterprise Plan: Custom credit amounts, integrations, and dedicated support — click here to connect with us

Earning Extra Credits (coming soon!)

You can build up a reserve of credits that never expire by helping us improve and spread the word about Zenode! These will change over time, but include actions like:

  • Referring Zenode to friends and colleagues

  • Following us on LinkedIn

  • Completing surveys and feedback forms

These earned credits are only used after your daily credits run out.

Subscription & Cancellation

  • Billing: Paid plans renew on your billing date.

  • Cancellation: If you cancel, you’ll keep Pro access until the end of your billing period. After that, your account reverts to Free.

  • Refunds: If you believe a refund is necessary, please reach out to Support@Zenode.AI.

Quick answers to common questions about credits, plans, and subscriptions.
What does 1 credit mean?
One credit equals one AI lookup on a single part’s documentation. For example, running a Deep Dive on 25 parts will consume 25 credits, since the AI searches each part’s documents individually.
Can I get my credits refunded if the AI gives me a wrong or bad answer?
Yeah, this happens and we don't have a good way to deal with it yet (we're more focused on making it NOT happen in the first place 😅). So if the AI slips up, PLEASE hit the feedback button on the page and include your query, and what went wrong (or send to Support@Zenode.ai). If you include detailed feedback we can include in our future training runs, we'll even add an earned bonus for helping us improve!
Do I need credits to search for parts?
No. Searching, browsing, and refining parts with filters is always free. You can also view specs and read datasheets and other documentation manually without using credits
What uses up credits?
Credits are only consumed when you ask Zenode’s AI to actively work for you. Examples include using Deep Dive (multi-part analysis) or Interactive Documents (AI-assisted document answers and sources on specific parts).
Do I need an account to use Zenode?
No account is required to run basic searches. Creating a free account gives you a sign up bonus, plus daily credits for advanced AI features.
What happens if I run out of daily credits?
If you’ve earned extra credits (through referrals, surveys, etc.), those will be used automatically. Otherwise, you’ll need to wait until the next daily reset.
When do credits reset?
Daily credits reset at midnight in your local time zone.
How do earned credits work?
Earned credits are awarded for taking specific actions to improve or promote Zenode, such as referring friends and colleagues, following us on Linkedin, answering feedback surveys, etc. The methods change, some may be only be done once, others multiple times, and we're always adding new ones, so check back frequently. Earned credits never expire, and are only used after your daily credits are finished.
Will your prices change?
Almost certainly, we are a startup after all, and we'll be adding many cool features in the future (all of which will work on the same credit system). But, we won't change YOUR plan once you've signed up, why would we want to punish our earliest believers???
I need to cancel my subscription, what happens next?
We're bummed to see you go! You can cancel anytime from the billing tab on your profile. You’ll keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period. After that, you’ll revert to the Free plan with fewer daily credits. Any earned credits will stay on your account and be consumed as usual.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds aren’t automatic. If you believe one is necessary, contact us at Support@Zenode.AI.
Do I lose my data or saved work if I downgrade?
No. Your account, saved searches, and earned credits remain. You’ll just have fewer daily credits.
