The N784-001-ST is a 10/100BaseT(X) to 100BaseFX Media Converter with multi mode ST-type fiber connection. The media converter is an economical way to extend the distance (up to 2km) of network nodes by converting Cat5/6 UTP cables to fiber optic. The media converter features automatic MDI/MDI-X configuration and the UTP port senses the network speed automatically as well. DIP switches allow half or full duplex operation on the fiber port. Power supplied by either AC-DC adapter or USB connection (switch selectable). The N784 series media converter is a standalone physical layer device that converts between 10/100BaseT(X) and 100BaseFX segments of the same network. The converter supports link fault pass-through (LFP) for easy tracing of network link failures and the LFP function enhances the integrity and conformity of twisted pair (TP)-fiber linking to make the network easier to maintain.
